If there is anything I haven’t answered below, please feel free
to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with your questions.
I am based in Durban, South Africa but have filmed all over.
Absolutely, wherever your wedding is, I want to be there!
Not if you are within two hours drive from Durban. Anything further than that and I will require accommodation.
This depends on how far away your wedding is from Durban. If it is under two hours then I prefer to film solo, which is what I have been doing for the past four years. If it is more than two hours away, I get to take my husband along for the drive and put him to work on the day as my assistant!
Yes, please supply catering for the night of the wedding.
Once I have confirmed that your date is available, a 10% booking fee and completed contract are required to secure your wedding date. The balance is due after the wedding when your USB is ready to courier.
Yes I do! This is an optional extra, so please feel free to email me for more information.
Your films are supplied in HD on a USB stick.
My turnaround time is generally between 12 - 16 weeks after the wedding but this varies on the time of the year. Please remember that the editing process takes an enormous amount of time, and takes a lot longer to edit than photos.
If you have a particular request for something out of the ordinary then I will try to accommodate for that, within reason, but most weddings follow a natural flow of events which I prefer to stick to. Should you have any requests, please let me know before your wedding date.
Song selection is incredibly important to me in my films and I dedicate a lot of time trying to find the perfect songs that truly reflect each couple. I find what works best is a collaboration between your songs and mine. After the wedding I will email you a list of music to complete for your feature films and base my editing off of that. If I find one of your songs isn’t working then I will use my discretion to find something more suitable. The only exception is for any social media films, where I will exercise my creative license and all music choices will be solely up to me.
After receiving your final films, your raw footage will be kept for three months and your final wedding films are kept for a year.
For the speeches at your reception, try not to have more than 4 - 5 speakers and keep the length of these speeches between 5 - 10 minutes long. If you have a speaker who is known to be a bit of a storyteller, then give them half the allotted time (trust me, they WILL end up doubling it on the night). If you have four or less speeches, then think about perhaps doing them all at once. Don’t forget that your MC will speak between speeches, and this can take up quite a bit of time too, especially if they are the chatty kind. Lastly, try to keep your speakers talking at the lectern - there’s nothing worse than someone wandering during their speech, not only in terms of audio but also as I have to trail behind them to keep them in frame.
